Hi! I've been recently debating with myself whether I should start reading books or not.
For context about why that's a debate, I like to to do role plays. Not larping or dnd (tho I just started and it's great), but written role plays. 1 on 1 writing a story with someone. But here's the kicker: I actually really disliked reading. Whenever I'd try to reading something whether it be for studies or for required readings in school I always ended up getting bored, distracted, or dissociate so much that I end up reading the same line of text for the next 2 or 3 minutes.
It was only until recently when my role play partner wasnt feeling and was taking their time with their replies that I realized I was really craving to intake a story. But none animated like I normally do cause I normally don't have time to commit to an episode. So after internally debating I decided it's time I actually tried reading a book. Something Id actually be interested in and not just something I'm forced to read.
So here I am, looking for suggestion from strangers on the internet on where to start. I don't think I have a preference for what kind story just yet. But I do love world building. With that being said I'm mostly looking for something with either a High Fantasy or a Sci-fi setting.
