I am emerging from a mental health slump but struggling to finish reading anything… find me THE book.

I don’t have a genre in mind. I want something that grips me from the first page, failing that I promise to read the second page.

Last year I read 34 books in the first 6 months, the latter 6 months I read a further 7 and 2025 YTD I’ve finished 3 but started about 10 and DNFd. I’m starting to get bored of filling my spare hours with watching Netflix. I’m craving substance, but easy reading. I love drama, fantasy, post-apocalyptic, East Asian historical fiction. Ideally written by a woman but I’m not THAT picky (?)
