So, I want to read more fiction books, but I don't know which one to start with. Every time I search online, so many books come up, and I don't know which one to pick. I am experiencing FOMO and Paradox of Choice

I have read many self-help books, but now I want to read fiction and literary works. Please recommend some good fiction books to read. Any genre or type of book is welcome.

Note: Please avoid booktok popular books because i have read quite a few of them and i thibk most of these books over-emphasize aesthetics and lack substance

    Some books I have read:
    Animal Farm
    1984
    Siddhartha
    Stories of Your Life
    Stoner
    Ready Player one
    Dark Matter
    Normal People
    Beach Read

There’s so many genres of fiction that some more details would be helpful. Did you like any of the books you mentioned? Do you like sci fi, fantasy, or things more grounded in reality?

For sci-fi: Project Hail Mary, Hyperion, Flowers for Algernon

For general fiction: Cannery Row, All Quiet on the Western Front

      Fantasy: Piranesi, The Hobbit

Check out S.A Cosby. This author got me back into reading after a decade plus. He recently released a book called “King Of Ashes” but you can start with “Razorblade tears” or “Blacktop wasteland.” He mainly writes southern thriller/mystery books.
