Basically what it says in the title. Ideally I'd like something that covers the entire period from the Belgica to the Shackleton-Rowlett expedition. Something like Glyn Williams' Arctic Labyrinth or Anthony Brandt's The Man Who Ate His Boots for the Northwest Passage or Leslie Neatby's Discoveries in Russian and Siberian Waters, or Alan Gurney's Below the Convergence covering the period before the Heroic Age.
I'm not primarily looking for books on individual expeditions but am open to recommendations for them. I have read Endurance and am getting Madhouse at the End of the Earth.
