Have you read any books that make you feel relaxed or grounded? Either poetic writing that is meditative, such tender dives into characters you feel so present in/understanding of their experiences or the world at large? Etc?

I’ve felt this way by A Place for Us, I felt more present and fully aware of these peoples emotional spectrum than I’ve ever felt about my own.
When I’m Gone Look for me in the East is written from the perspective of a buddhist monk. Could get graphic and violent but it still maintained such a relaxing way of writing.
A Tale for the Time Being – Also had a lot to do with buddhism. I somehow felt more at peace with the world while and after reading this book.

Any moments you’ve had like this while or after reading a book?!

War and Peace has been very reassuring about my own weaknesses and repetitive behaviors. It’s a sort of “wow I never had an original experience in my life” thing, which has been incredible comforting. Especially Pierre, a character who goes between total faith and complete despair in himself.
Wind-up Bird Chronicle- Murakami
Piranesi by Susana Clark.
All Creatures Great and Small by James Herriot
