Hi everyone, I’m looking for recommendations for books—fiction or non-fiction—that explore what it’s like to parent an autistic child. I’d love stories that feel authentic, whether raw and realistic, hopeful and uplifting, or even humorous. Memoirs or narrative-driven non-fiction are very welcome, as well as novels that focus on the parent’s perspective. Mostly autism-specific, but I’m open to beautifully written stories about parenting neurodivergent or differently-abled kids too. Modern or classic suggestions are both great! Thanks in advance

“Sincerely, your autistic child” and “we’re not broken” and “the reason I jump” were the first three I read when my kid was diagnosed.
A Child Called Noah by Josh Greenfield. Originally published in 1972. This was before much was known about autism and it’s quite a journey.
