I’m a hobby writer – never published, I just enjoy writing for myself – and I have an idea for a romance set “on the prairie.” I’m looking for books to help me get the inspirational juices flowing – set in the early 1900’s (give or take) that take place “out west,” or “on the prairie.” A farm setting. Looking for all of what’s listed in the title. I’d prefer open door and some smut. I’m looking for drama, but not in a cheesy Fabio on the cover kind of way 🙃

Thousands of mail order brides arrived in the plains states . Living in sod houses separated from civilization. Many books written about it. Did not hear or read too much about arranged marriage between families that much.
