I spend a lot of time in film so whenever I read I almost treat it as if I’m storyboarding a movie (imagining different camera shots and such). I have a pretty normal reading speed, but when im
really trying to get immersed in a book I’ve realized it’s incredibly slow (about 75 wpm). This wouldn’t bother me, but deadlines stress me out and I usually find myself deciding between enjoying a book or finishing it without any stress. What’s the best way to improve my reading speed while also enjoying it?

Note: I can read a book while reading at an above-average pace and fully understand the plot and themes, I just don’t find myself as immersed or entertained
