As the title says, I mainly listen to audiobooks because they fit my schedule better, and I really just love them. With that being said, I am looking for something to get my actual hands on. I have a weird problem in that I fall asleep super easily when reading and it doesn't matter what time of day it is (amongst other things – my wife hates watching movies with me as I barely make it past the credits sometimes – and no it's not narcolepsy, I swear it's just a weird phenomenon that my body says your tired, sleep), but I digress.
Anyway, I am looking for a real page-turner that will keep me up and won't let me put it down. I love anything Brandon Sanderson, I've read LOTR numerous times, anything Greek Mythology related (Percy Jackson, Edith Hamilton, Mythos, Heroes, etc.), Laura Hillenbrand's Unbroken was one of my faves, 1776 by McCullough was amazing, I'm a big fan of historical fiction as well. So I know it is a very random list, but it's what I like.
I have heard that Dungeon Crawler Carl is awesome, but I'm unsure whether to read it or listen to it.
So have at it with your recommendations! Thanks in advance!

Project Hail Mary
Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes
I listen to a lot of audio books, and read a lot of actual books. But I find most of the fast paced books guaranteed to keep you awake are ones I’ve listened to! For reading I prefer books with beautiful language, and big sprawling classics, you are probably yarning already! Anyway, trying my best to suggest a few:
Treasure Island – Robert Louis Stevenson (yes, it was originally a children’s book, yes it works for adults too)
The Andromeda Strain – Michael Critchon
American Gods – Neil Gaiman (great book, especially for someone who like mythology, but problematic author)
The Hunchback of Notre Dame – Victor Hugo (there are a couple of chapters that digress into architecture and the printing press that might make you sleepy, but you could skip those two interesting but not fast paced bits and get back to the story)
The Sharpe series of books – starts with Sharpe’s Tiger – Bernard Cornwell
The Archer’s Tale – Bernard Cornwell
Terry Pratchett’s Discworld books – sub-series starring Sam Vimes – 1st book is Guards! Guards!
The Passage – Justin Conin
Into Thin Air – Jon Krakauer (nonfiction)
Touching the Void – Joe Simpson (nonfiction)
Adrift: Seventy-Six Days at Sea – Steven Callahan (nonfiction)
