Hi everyone,
I'm forming a research project idea and I want to focus on sick women in gothic texts (as I am a chronically sick woman who is often resigned to live in the shadows!). There are quite a few gothic texts that deal with mental health, e.g. Jane Eyre (Bertha) and The Yellow Wallpaper (Narrator), but can anyone suggest any gothic books that deal with other illness or physical issues?
Thank you!

Does Mrs Haversham in *Great Expectations* count? She had such a broken heart and fell into such a deep depression that she became a hermit and lived in the shadows of that ruined delapidated mansion
