I'm looking for realistic fiction about someone working in or researching something in the field of language, literature or lingustics, where their work is described in detail and plays a significant part of the story. I'm thinking things like forensic linguists, translators/interpreters, researchers of ancient languages…anything like that. I don't mind whether it's set in the present time or in the past.
I'm not looking for sci-fi, fantasy, speculative or dystopian fiction – only books with a realistic setting.
