Just finished reading Annihilation, which I really enjoyed but don't feel a great pull to read the remaining 2 books in the Southern Reach series. Recently read the Three Body Problem and the other two books in that series and absolutely loved it – I love books that have a sense of mystery but ha e a sense of resolution and books that try to tackle big concepts / aren't afraid to be ambitious!
Any suggestions please? I'm not completely wedded to sci fi, but am interested in sci fi / horror especially. Also open to fantasy books. If it's part of a series I can sink my teeth into that would also be great.

You should try the Hyperion books! They start with Hyperion and then Fall of Hyperion, and get weird but also still interesting in Endymion and Rise of Endymion. They’re not for everyone but they are hard sci-fi and some quite weighty concepts.
