I’ve really enjoyed reading the “Rip in Time” series by Kelley Armstrong.

I love the characters and all the research that is apparent in fleshing out the various aspects of the Victorian period, especially all the law enforcement and “autopsy” procedures. The FMC is intelligent and full of interesting modern facts which keep the story telling very engaging.

Please suggest something similar in terms of characters and interesting facts. Time travel not necessary.
