I’m working on a psychological thriller where the protagonist realizes someone is quietly replacing her.
It’s not body-swapping or sci-fi — just unsettling social and digital cues. Someone who’s better at her job. Gets invited to her meetings. Responds to her messages before she can.
The central theme is identity erosion — with paranoia, gaslighting, and the question: if someone lives your life better, do you deserve to keep it?

There is a movie about that, with Tom Felton and Ashley Green and it was so very mid. I hope your story does better.
You should read The Double by Dostoyevsky (or watch the Richard Ayoade film).
