New to reading books. Looking for novel recommendations

Hey everyone!
I'm new to reading and want to get into novels but not sure where to start. I'm open to different genres whether it's mystery, thriller, fantasy, sci-fi but not romance. I'd love books that are engaging and not too slow-paced, especially ones that can hook a beginner like me.
