Specifically I’d like to find a book where the main character(s) has to progressively become more skilled at magic. I like how much emphasis is put on magic in Arcane Ascension and how its magic system works overall and ideally I’m looking for something similar in that regard but with a darker more serious feel to it.
Hopefully that’s enough for you to give a recommendation, it doesn’t have to fit perfectly. I appreciate any and all suggestions!
