Hey guys, so I've been trying to read more. I read generally for pleasure or/and for general knowledge. So the content I read spans from sci-fi, romance, action, adventure to biographies, historical records, essays, etc.
I've read a couple books in the last month or two, but even though there are so many books it feels like I can't find any. and when I do find them they're either too complex or just unclear. I can't seem to find anything to read and it feels overwhelming picking a new book to read.
I need book recommendations for someone whose not yet an avid reader, but I also need a guide on how to find books that interest me more easily. How do I single out a good book? or just like shows and movies will I have to read it to find out?

Three by John Scalzi.
**Starter Villain** is the most entertaining book I’ve read recently. It’s a spoof of the early James Bond movies. A substitute teacher inherits his estranged uncle’s villainy which comes complete with a secret volcanic lair.
**The Kaiju Preservation Society** is … sci-fi fun and adventuresome.
**Redshirts** is a satire of space-opera from the point-of-view of ‘expendable’ crew.
Scalzi’s writing is dialogue-heavy, making them an easy read.
