Hey all, first time posting in this subreddit I apologise if this not the right place for such a request.
I’m looking for small to medium length novels (Something that can still be enjoyable be it fiction, fantasy or adventure) where I can pick up ways and phrases to naturally compliment my significant other.
I met this amazing woman who’s an artist, a scientist and a musician and my arsenal of genuine complements is nearly emptying. I need to learn ways to reflect my genuine admiration of her.
I’m not after over-the-top or super flowery language, but rather dialogue or narration where affection and admiration come through in a way that feels genuine, warm, and natural. Perhaps a charming but not too cringy or immature type of compliments (we are both at our late 20’s)
Something where the characters’ chemistry and subtle expressions of appreciation feel organic.
Any recommendations for books with that kind of tone? Bonus points if the complimenting comes through in little moments rather than big romantic speeches, avoiding hardcore NSFW content would also be an extra bonus.
