You never truly know what cover you are going to get until you open the box because the ISBN for each cover is exactly the same. I just bought Stephen King's Dark Tower series from Blackwells because they have all the books new and listed as the "Now with a stunning new cover look." After reaching out they confirmed that there is no guarantee what cover is sent if they have previous versions of the book with the same ISBN. This definitely screams false advertising, but at the same time the "ISBN" is there…
You think there would be a way to guarantee what cover you are purchasing from a store by now. I'm not trying to get a mystery crate, and the Ultimate Storyteller version of Stephen King's books seems like a pain to get in the U.S. since I missed out when these came out a few years ago. They aren't listed at any store and I can only find them used.

I kind of have a similar issue buying used. Most have the dust jacket, but apparently they all agree that a book can be considered “very good” and just not send the whole book.
