As the title suggests, I am really bad at reading. I don't know what my specific learning disability is, but reading is very tough for me. I am perfectly literate, but have to read at a snail's pace. I also need fairly simple text/dialog to be honest.
Does anyone have suggestions for a very easy-to-read book that also isn't for children? I am open to some YA, though. Ideally, I'd like something scifi/fantasy themed. Something with some adventure to the story. I am not looking for graphic novels at the moment.
Any suggestions would be amazing.

“The very long way to a small, angry planet” is a sci-fi book about a space crew and how they interact with each other! It’s about 300 pages and is a fun read!

Try graphic novels! You can try some of classic novels that have been adapted into a graphic form, like Jane Eyre or The Trial, but honestly go to a bookstore or a library and just browse. There is no shortage of fiction, fantasy, non-fiction or anything else. Maus is a classic for adults but you can read whatever you desire.
There’s a category of reader who wants to read but struggles for various reasons, and research shows that graphic novels help keep the interest alive as well as build reading skills.
I have ADHD and I got back into reading by pairing a physical book with an audio book. It helps me pay attention.
I would typically buy a book and then use a free library app (Libby or Hoopla) to access the audio book.
After doing that for a bit I can now read or listen to an audiobook without pairing them.
Might be worth a try.
I like Marie Lu’s Legend series. I don’t think they are too difficult but I guess try it an see
