My husband and I have decided to just get each other books for christmas this year. Our tastes are pretty different, so I don’t feel like I can rely on what I’ve read in the past or book trends I follow to find something he’ll really love.
His favorite books of all time are The Count of Monte Cristo, The Book Thief, Dune, and Uncle Tom’s Cabin. I would say his tastes leans more towards literary fiction and classics. He hasn’t read a lot of fantasy or sci fi but seems interested in it.
He definitely doesn’t like thrillers/mystery or romance (although subplots are fine).
Any recommendations?? Thanks:)

Stoner, Augustus, or Butcher’s Crossing by John Williams. His writing is clear and precise and perfect. All of these are masterpiecess and you can’t go wrong with any of them
