I am an incredibly picky reader. During the last one year the only series i actually enjoyed from the beginning to the end was the poppy war trilogy. What got me into reading was Christopher Pike when I was still in high school.
What I have gathered is that I absolutely love the magic elements, whether its fantasy or sci-fi. I do however only seem to thoroughly enjoy the book if it explores more serious themes/flawed characters. I was recommended vicious by VE Schwab yet it definitely was too much of an easy read—both length wise and the writing itself felt light and more YA suited.
I also don’t mind a romance subplot, as long as it’s not like the monstrosity in fourth wing (sorry)
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated 🙂
