Recommend me a shorter book to get back into reading
Didn't read any book this year and just want something that is super easy to read to get me back into groove. I generally love good thrillers, mysteries, or sci-fi. K. Dick and Vonnegut are some of my favorite authors.
Carl Hiaasen for thriller/mystery should absolutely fit your vibe. If you’ve never tried reading the *Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy* by Douglas Adams I’d absolutely recommend that as well.
If you can lean into fantasy a little bit, Terry Pratchett is has a lot of similar absurd and humanist qualities to Vonnegut, and the Discworld universe has a lot to offer.

One Billion Years To The End Of The World by the Strugatsky brothers was such a fun, short little sci-fi book! Round 160 pages, read a bit like a play
