I love reading books pertaining to Appalachia. I’ve read some on the history of moonshine in NC, some NC ghost stories, books by people who have hiked the Appalachian trail, books by people have given their opinions about the regions and growing up in the area. I’ve read a few folk books too pertaining to the areas.
I’m in a horror kick right now and decided to read some ghost stories about other areas than North Carolina and Tennessee and came across these.
It’s a book filled with different stories. I’m thankful they provided sources from where the author found the stories and was able to help pass them on.
It’s interesting how so many of these stories have tie ins to more local and statewide “stories” that I grew up hearing. Some had me feeling a bit spooked while some didn’t hit that mark.
Either way I think it’s a neat option if it’s your cup of tea to give it a read. I’m now gonna search for a book I hope will horrify me
