I remember that one short story where the MC closes his eyes and finds himself running away from Amazonian tribes and when he closes his eyes again, he is back at home and it keeps switching on and on everytime he closes his eyes.
I also remember the "Metamorphosis" story by Franz Kafka where the MC transforms into a bug.
I want such mind-boggling, strange and unbelievable stories that are usually not found elsewhere. Do recommend

I’m Thinking of Ending Things by Iain Reid
The Goalie’s Anxiety At The Penalty Kick by Peter Handke fits the bill, stylistically very bizarre and arresting and so light on plot that it’s fascinating. It is the style more than the content that’s bizarre though
