My daughter is looking for new books to read.she likes female main characters and mostly reads high fantasy and magical realism. She also seems to be able to tolerate romance in books since she just finished the entire Decendents series. Any suggestions are appreciated, thank you.

The Sight. I want to say I was around her age when I read it. I should actually read it again. I remember it being a favorite.
His Dark Materials – if she hasn’t read the series already, that is!
She may like the Inkheart books by Cornelia Funke.
Has she read any of the Disney spinoffs for young adults? Featuring expanded universes. I recently read “Frozen II: Dangerous Secrets”.
The Anne of Green Gables Series
The Unicorn Chronicles by Bruce Coville (the first book is called Into the Land of the Unicorns)
Fablehaven by Brandon Mull (the first book is also called Fablehaven)
omg when i was her age i loved the fablehaven series
Anything by Tamora Pierce. She writes excellent books that mostly focus on female main characters. I started reading her books around that age and still re-read them now that I’m in my 30s.
The Scholomance series by Naomi Novik—about a magical school not at all like Hogwarts! The Dragonriders of Pern series by McCaffrey. The Valdemar (and other related) series by Lackey.
Skulduggery Pleasant would be fantastic for her! Strong female character, set in Ireland with realistic magic
