A couple of months ago I came across this truly hidden gem of Tony LaRocca's short story collection. I found his weird/cosmic horror world building and prose super compelling and would love to read some similar books. Either short stories or novels.
The only book I've found relatively similsr is Attila Vere's The Black Maybe, which has some damn good short stories, although the writing style is not as good in my opinion (or it may be just a poor translation job from a very difficult language such as Hungarian).
Anyway, would love to hear your recs for some hard hitting modern take on cosmic horror!
