Hi! Im looking for stand alone fiction and scifi books. All subgenres welcome, from lit rpg to magical realism to – well, anything! I just don't want it to be part of a series.
but please dont suggest Andy Weir. I know he exists and tried all his books and the only one I liked was Artemis.

Lord of Light by R. Zelazny
Champions of the Gods by Vincent Kane
Several of my favorite books that I’ve read in the last five years have been standalone genre fiction:
The Devil and the Dark Water, by Stuart Turton
A Face Like Glass, by Frances Hardinge (yes, this is YA or maybe even middle grade, but I promise, you’ve never read anything else quite like it)
The Bright Sword, by Lev Grossman
Babel, by RF Kuang
The Terraformers, by Annalee Newiz
If you want to read the biggest and most complex SciFi series in the world : Perry Rhodan.
It is like the Simpsons of SciFi, doesn’t matter which topic, it has been portrayed at some point in the series. If you want to read it all, it is really a tough one, till this day IT IS about 190.000 pages to read and still growing.
Mogworld by Yahtzee Croshaw. Main character is undead. Hijinks ensue.
If you’re cool with indie stuff, “The Quantum Prophet: Elio Ascendant” slaps. Stand-alone, no cliffhangers. Think god-tier AI trying to figure out what being human even means while fighting cosmic-level nonsense. One wild ride, start to finish.
