Hi there so as the title suggests I want to get into the world of fiction and novels but I have a slight problem I wanna get into books but everytime I try I always end up dropping the book I tried reading red rising as it was suggested by many people but I never could advance in it I always end up stopping my problem is that sometimes I don't understand what's going on and I can't really imagine I've always had an easy time reading comics and mangas but never could finish a book so I need recommendations and here is what I'm looking for:
1- the book has to be easy to understand that's because English isn't my first language and while I fully understand the language I am not really that academically advanced in it so a lot of books use certain ways to describe a scene where I don't really understand what's going on
2- the books should be a bit fast paced, this is because it's my first time reading a book and I don't want something that's slow and boring in the beginning that won't hold my attention for long
3- obviously the has to be fiction and preferably sci-fi or fantasy as those are my favorite genres in any form of media
