Sally Rooney is a somewhat divisive author, but whether you enjoy her work or not you have to admire someone who takes a stand for what they believe in and to hell with the consequences.

    1. I’m not a big fan of her writing but I am also not a fan of the UKs approach to Palestine and protesting. After this article I AM a fan of her as a person!

Sally Rooney has quickly become a favorite writer of mine and good for her for standing up for Palestine.

She could be… except she’s an Irish citizen living in Ireland. Unless Keir Starmer thinks Ireland is overdue for another British invasion?

Refreshing to see a multimillionaire author using their power and influence for good

    5. >While the prime minister’s spokesperson would not respond to the author’s comments specifically, they said that there was “a difference between showing support for a proscribed organisation, which is an offence under the Terrorism Act, and legitimate protest in support of a cause”

Is there a difference if you don’t agree that the “proscribed organization” is a terrorist group? Also, call it a terrorist group if that’s what you have decided it is, you coward.

As a note, the “terrorist act” that the group performed was breaking into an RAF bas and spray painting two airplanes. Pathetic to see that the British government is so easily terrorized. Inflating vandals to terrorists is an incredibly fast way to lose credibility.

Yes, she is a virulent antisemite. Giving money to a terrorist group is disqualifying.
