Can you recommend me books like Normal People by Sally Rooney. I like stories with a focus on human relations and emotions, with a romantic plot that does not have to be a happy ending. I just want to cry while thinking about mental illnesses and relationships.

If you’re looking for something more lightheaded, but with similar messy emotions, I’d recommend The Rachel Incident by Caroline O’Donoghue. Acts of Desperation by Megan Nolan reminded me of Normal People a bit as well because of how messy the protagonist is, the relationship is way more toxic though.
