Looking for recs where the dynamic is this:
The MMC: Stoic, principled to the bone. Won’t bend for approval, convenience or popularity. A visionary, obsessed with building (companies, systems, products), but comes off cold, arrogant or untouchable. Not a talker, but when he speaks, it cuts deep. Terrible at expressing emotion, prone to vanishing into his own head, and often wounds with blunt honesty. Magnetic in spite of his aloofness.
The FMC: His anchor. Warm, socially fluid, and nurturing where he’s withdrawn. Sharp, independent, and unafraid to challenge his pride. She teases him out of his shell but can burn just as hot if pushed. Devoted, but never blindly; she expects as much greatness from him as she gives herself. Sometimes impatient with his silences, sometimes risks overextending by trying to be everything.
Together: Ego vs wit, detachment vs engagement, idealism vs pragmatism. They clash hard, but the friction fuels growth. Their bond isn’t about surface harmony; it’s about respect and deep alignment of values.
Any books where the characters fit this mold?
