Dear r/booksuggestions
I'm in the final stretch of my Literature course, with the remaining six months dedicated to a thesis based on literature and literary analysis. After careful consideration, I chose to explore the topic of Literature as a form of therapy and catharsis.
I would like to know if you are familiar with any books/novels/works of fiction that could fall into this category or could be understood through this lens. For example, books that seem to be the retellings of the author's struggle with mental health, or putting their trauma onto paper. I've experienced and have close friends who have experienced a decline in mental health, as such, this is a topic that I am passionate about, nd I am eager to begin working on my thesis.
So please tell me if you know about, or personally recommend a book that you believe would fit this topic in some way, and also please submit your personal experience with the book, what it made you feel, and how you believe it is the right choice for this topic.
Thank you so much! I look forward to reading your replies!
