**Platonic: How the Science of Attachment Can Help You Make–and Keep–Friends** by Marisa G. Franco had a lot of filler that I skimmed, but good strategies and advice I took to heart.

**Seek You: A Journey Through American Loneliness** is a lovely graphic novel meditation on American loneliness.

**Bowling Alone** is older now but a classic look at how Americans are gathering less, what is causing it, and how that affects society as a whole.

**A Walking Life: Reclaiming Our Health and Our Freedom One Step at a Time** talks a lot about structural reasons behind loneliness and the importance of gathering. I’m not done, but it’s interesting so far.

Hyperbole and a Half by Allie Brosh is the only book I’ve read which described the same depression symptoms I had.

    3. The Heart Principle, Helen Hoang. Her description of the experience of autistic burnout was spot on and well timed for me.
