    Hi everyone.

Sorry for the broad genre request.

Anyway I really enjoyed all the Agatha Christie's novels that I have read, as well as the Dresden files from Jim Butcher, and most recently The Chalk Man by C. J. Tudor. I also read Manga and I loved Death Note, Hellsing and Monster.

But my current favourite book is The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon.

Also I have a compilation of the works from H.P. Lovecraft, but I honestly can't get into it, I think it's his way of writing ( although I understand for the time it must have been awesome), I read half the works and I can't push myself to read the rest.

My mom landed me the book Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi, because I told her I like Time Travel and Manga, but I haven't started it yet.

So I'm asking you what would you suggest on these grounds?

    Thanks in advance

Raven Black by Ann Cleeves is the first novel in a mystery series set on the Shetland Islands.

    2. I think it’s pretty common to love Lovecrafts ideas, but not his actual writing, or him as a person for that matter.

The Tainted Cup by Robert Jackson Bennett is a murder mystery with a fantasy setting, and is the first in a series.

Stephen King is called the king of horror for a reason, but he does write non horror too.
11/22/63 (it’s got time travel as a central plot point) and The Dead Zone are my recommendations for thrillers by him, and for horror I’d have to go with The Shining and Night Shift, which is a short story collection.

The Buffalo Hunter Hunter by Stephen Graham Jones is my favorite horror read of the year. It’s a vampire story with an interesting take on vampire lore and imo it has the perfect amount of gross/gruesomeness.

I wonder if you’d like *Have His Carcase* by Dorothy Sayers. It has an intriguing encryption puzzle, and it’s a good solid mystery from the Agatha Christie era.

Another by Sayers you might like is *Murder Must Advertise*, which although very retro, is amazingly accessible today. And has the detective (Lord Peter Wimsey) going undercover.
