The House in the Pines by Ana Reyes might be a little on the nose setting-wise, but it’s definitely a thriller. It was creepy.

    2. Doesn’t hit all ur needs but “ The last murder at the end of the world” by Stuart Turton.

    3. Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman is just really charming and mostly light. Though there’s a few parts when it gets real all of a sudden and hits you in the feels.

The Hawthorne and Horowitz by Anthony Horowitz for some also light, often meta mysteries.

The Decagon House Murders by Yukito Ayatsuji and the rest of the series is great for complicated locked room mysteries.

The Devotion of Suspect X and the rest of the Detective Gallileo series by Keigo Higashino for emotionally strong motivated murder mysteries in “present day” Japan.

All of these have some great plot twists imo.
