I’m not talking about something like… Oh, goodness. That’s freaky.
No. I want something that’s gonna have me sleeping with both eyes open, with the covers pulled up to my chin. Something that’s gonna make me wake my fiancé up so that he can walk me to the bathroom, because I’m too damn freaked out to walk by myself.
I just finished Bird Box and it was creepy… But it didn’t give me what I wanted. I did devour it in one sitting… Lol. But it just didn’t give me that terrifying feeling of dread.
We Used to Live Here by Marcus Kleiwer? Now that shit had my panties in a twist. Sheer friggin horror. That’s what I want!
Any suggestions? Please. I wanna think there’s something hiding in the shadows tonight. I wanna be afraid to leave my feet hanging off the edge of the bed.

I really did not enjoy “Witchcraft for Wayward Girls” by Grady Hendrix because it was so scary. It’s well written I just don’t like scary and didn’t know what I was getting myself into lol.
Desperation by Stephen King did that for me.
I’d recommend Stolen Tongues by Felix Blackwell. I’m not usually affected by horror/splatterpunk but that one did make me stop reading at night lol
The Troop by Nick Cutter might be a good fit. I haven’t read it, but I’ve heard good things.
Good luck!
The Twisted Ones by T. Kingfisher.
Last days of Jack Sparks scared the crap out of me.
