I recently read Record of a Night too Brief and Strange Weather in Tokyo by Hiromi Kawakami and loved them both tremendously.
I’m planning on buying every other book of hers at some point lol 😅 (already made a list of the order I’d like to buy them in).
I also recently read Convenience Store Woman and Earthlings by Sayaka Murata (am currently reading life ceremony and planning on buying Vanishing World soon).
I love the fever dream like quality of Kawakami’s writing (and the wholesomeness of Strange Weather in Tokyo). And I love how utterly bizarre Murata’s books are.
I’m in the mood for other weird books, ideally Asian (but not necessary). Also ideally short.
