This wasn’t a book I was seeking out. I was searching through the horror section of Libby and this one didn’t have a hold.
To avoid spoilers besides discussing in the comments with any who have read it, I will say that it’s not what I’d consider to be a horror book. It’s more of a thriller, which isn’t a bad thing.
I do recommend the book and would enjoy seeing it as a movie.
A group of women go to an island for one of their bachelor parties. One of the girls is into true crime podcasting and has been wanting to explore the island due to a disappearance case years prior.
What I liked: it was entertaining and the author did a great job of describing the characters in such a way you could almost visualize them. She was also able to describe some of the thrilling moments with intensity.
What I didn’t like: it’s not the authors fault for this statement, but I have a habit of guessing correctly certain things when it comes to “this is who this is.” It seems more rare when an author has pulled a “fast one” on me. I also felt like some of the flow with timelines didn’t feel like best timing.
But the nitty gritty is, it’s a good book. I’d do say it’s worth the read and I’d love to talk about it with people in the comments if you have read it.
