this might be an odd request, but bear with me. I'm looking for examples of fiction books that have an opening line connecting to some fact about history, mythology, conspiracies, or honestly anything that can be considered above board, if that makes sense. In my mind it'd probably then connect to the scene/chapter/book as a whole thematically, but I'm not here to judge how well the fact is used, I'm just looking for examples of such a thing existing. I'm not picky about genres. this is more for research than for reading (unless…)
