I’m ditching Audible and I don’t know what to spend my 3 credits on. I tend to lean towards dark fantasy, dark steampunk, dark weird science. If there was something like the game Malifaux (for those that know) that would really scratch this itch.
To preempt a lot of suggestions here are the main series I think will be suggested but I’ve already have or have read/ Listened. The list isn’t exhaustive and should be more of a road map to what I like. As you can see below I really lean into well defined but flawed characters. If there was something like the game Malifaux (for those that know) that would really scratch this itch.
1st Law – Have and loved all of it.
Mistborn 1 and 2 trilogy. Enjoyed 1st haven’t got to 2nd Trilogy but I own it.
Stormlight – Stopped on book 4. Stopped caring when everyone got superpowers.
Broken Earth- Have all 3 books. Currently reading book 1 and loving it.
Lies of Loch Larmore – All three and loved them
LotR- Own all three books. Stopped reading Fellowship when Tom Bombadil wouldn’t stop singing.
Malazan- Own all books. Got them on audible sale for 3.99 each. Stopped a Dead House gates because for the love of god give me a character I care about.
Dark Tower. Got through book 1 and was confused by the ending. I’m still intrigued and may reread the end but I haven’t cared enough to move on.
Bas Lag series- Read PSS and currently on The Scar. Have The council on the sideline.
