Hello everyone,
I hope everyone is doing well. I've recently decided that I wanted to pick up reading as a hobby, and was wondering if anyone could here could recommend me a few novels. As of now, most of the media I consume come in the form of anime, manga, video games, and TV shows, and there's one character archetype that I love more than any other – a character who redeems themself. But I'm not interested in just any redemption story, but rather something that depicts a complete transformation with the end product being a character who is kind, disciplined, wholesome, etc.
Some of my favorite characters include Guts from Berserk, Thorfinn from Vinland Saga, Musashi from Vagabond, Kratos from God of War, Arthur Morgan from RDR2, Jaime Lannister from GOT/ASOIAF, and Violet Evergarden from well, Violet Evergarden.
And while this next part isn't mandatory, it'd also be cool if the story is one that elicits a strong emotional response, like in the case of something like Violet Evergarden.
I'd prefer fiction, and if possible fantasy, but other genres are cool too. At the moment I have my eyes on the farseer trilogy by Robin Hobb, but I'm not exactly sure it fits the bill.
Thank you everyone!
