Just finished A frugal wizards guide to Medieval England by Sanderson. It was okay but in his post script he described it as a White room mystery because your main character wakes in a white room with no memory and the mystery is the main character finding out along with the reader. His inspiration examples were Project Hail Mary and the Bourne series (great book, great films)
