I’m looking for a book about the stages of child development. I’m not a parent and not trying to solve a parenting problem or learn how to “discipline” a kid, I’m just interested in the psychological and neurological stages we all went through.
Obviously I prefer engaging books but I’d actually rather read something that’s a little dry than something where I have to wade through a lot of parenting advice that doesn’t apply to me. Maybe something geared at educators or child psychologists would be best. Any ideas?

Email some professors who teach childhood development to see what they recommend. If you want a one book overview, you’re probably looking for a text book. But there are studies published in book form by academic presses all the time that would focus on one particular area.
