I'm a picky reader. If I choose a library book at random, there's a 99 percent chance I won't be able to finish it. I just find most books so boring. Yet, when I do find a book I like, I read it up as fast as my eyes permit.

I especially like suspenseful stories, hard sci-fi, and dystopia. (And absolutely no fantasy! My willing suspension of disbelief is hard to earn.) I have read four The Hunger Games books and am currently reading Sunrise on the Reaping. I did not like the Divergent series, and I thought The Maze Runner series was just okay. I've also read the Matched series. (Why did I do that to myself?) And I remember liking the Disruption series by Jessica Shrivington.

I love Andy Weir. Project Hail Mary is one of the best books I've read, The Martian was excellent too, and Artemis successfully held my attention. As for suspense, during my reading of Kelly Parson's Doing Harm, I had to periodically remind myself to breathe. Yet, Kelly's newer book, Under the Knife, didn't hold my attention. I remember liking Daniel H. Wilson's Amped. I read and enjoyed T. J. Newman's Drowning and John Marrs's The One, but they were not nearly as thrilling as I'd hoped, despite their clearly trying.

Does anyone have any fiction they think I'd love?
