Suggest me a book you enjoyed far more listening to than reading.
I know for a fact I’m way more engaged and entertained when listening to any sort of media as opposed to reading. I never listen to books that would interest me, because something inside me says it doesn’t count as reading.

World War Z – totally different book when listened to, and way better! Also Marian Keyes books which she reads herself. Even lovelier.

    2. of course it counts. free yourself of such restrictions.

Malcolm Gladwell audiobooks are semi-podcasts and more entertaining than others.

The Dungeon Crawler Carl audiobook narration is a revelation, next level. (Give the books at least like 3 chapters before you decide if you like it)

Project Hail Mary is great as an audiobook and some like it better. It represents certain important bits in a way that could only be done in an audiobook.

Edit: yes it counts. I often end up having both formats so I can listen while I drive or walk and I switch back-and-forth and by the time I’m done I can’t remember which parts I’ve read versus listened to. It’s all the same.

The Rivers of London series written by Ben Aaronovitch and read by Kobna Holbrook Smith.

If you’re interested in Greek myths, the *Mythos* series by Stephen Fry, which is also narrated by the man himself is an amazing listen. Also, whether you’re “reading” or “listening,” you’re still consuming the book, and that’s basically what counts, imo.

I have multiple vision issues, and audiobooks have been the primary way I get to read books. If it weren’t for them, I’d probably only manage about 10% of what I’ve read this year. And yes, I do add audiobooks I’ve listened to into my Goodreads.

Please, just focus on enjoying the content created by authors instead of worrying about whether you’re “truly” a reader if you’re not using the traditional format, haha.

The Widdershins series by Jordan L Hawk is sooooo much better with the audiobook. The narrator is FANTASTIC! I’ve yet to find a better narrator that gets you more into what’s going on. Great cadence and tone and unique voices (not in a cheesy childish way).

Any book by Caimh McDonnell that has Bunny McGarry as a main character, bc the narrator has the absolute best voice and accent for the character. The books are comic, and the characterization makes them funnier.
