Fantasy/sci-fi books with in-depth world building

I love reading sci-fi and fantasy book series and was hoping for some new recommendations. I read the Green Bone Saga by Fonda Lee about two years ago and really enjoyed them. I especially loved how it incorporated politics and relations between different countries. My mind is a little fuzzy on the details now, but I remember it also showed the lives of gangsters, drug abusers, people from Kekon immigrating to other countries, racism and clan discrimination, corruption in government, and things like that, which I found to be really interesting.
