I grew up in a small town in Colombia where books were my escape and my teachers. In school, learning often felt dull, confusing, or even impossible—but reading showed me that knowledge could actually be exciting.

That contrast stayed with me. A year ago, I decided to build something inspired by the joy that books gave me. The result is Gurwi, a visual, interactive, and multilingual learning app designed to make knowledge feel clear and accessible. Lessons are short—about 10 to 15 minutes—and every time you press continue, a new page appears with a visual or interactive resource and questions that help you go deeper. You can even listen to the text with audio, rewind or fast-forward it, and switch between Spanish, English, and Portuguese—so it doubles as a language-learning tool too.

Right now, Gurwi only has a few classes, covering topics like history, math, economics, biology, and programming, but I’m adding new ones every week. Each class includes the sources used, so what you’re learning is reliable.

I built this project with my friend Jonnier, without outside funding, just a lot of effort and persistence. Our dream is that Gurwi grows into more than just an app: a space where people can study, discuss, and share knowledge in the same spirit of curiosity that books inspire.

If anyone’s curious, it’s already available on Android and iOS.
