Keep me in suspense please

Please suggest me a book like The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I couldn’t put it down and I loved all of the suspense and plot twists.

No vampires or fantasy types, I’ve just grown out of them over the years.

Also, a little romance sprinkled in here and there is fine, but the bones of the story shouldn’t be centered around a raunchy love sorry. I’ve also moved past these types of books as I’ve aged.

*I am not knocking those types to be clear, I thoroughly enjoyed them when I was younger but I feel like I OVER read those genres, if that makes sense.
