Not to sound like a weirdo myself but I enjoy macabre naturey descriptions done beautifully. Like the book Monstrilio a grieving mother cuts out a piece of her dead baby’s liver to keep, she’s not a monster, she’s just a grieving mother. I’m also reading this book now and the narrator is describing how he found a bunch of dead birds stuck together because of mouse traps and how they look like a “monster from his dreams”.
Any other books like this come to mind? It doesn’t have to be on every page, peppered here and there is fine. I guess I also don’t mind if the narrator ends up being a villain or something, as long as that is not super obvious earlier on. Hope this is not too niche!!!
Thanks all :))
